A York-based company that sells ready-to-cook international foods is making plans for a new shop in downtown Lancaster.

Neilly’s Pantry Spring of Flavors will take a 1,700-square foot space at 101 N. Queen St. The retail space next to Starbucks is the former home of Chyatee, a clothing store that closed last fall.

Originally from Cameroon, owners Albert and Julie Ndjee began Neilly’s 20 years ago when they began making and selling an African spice blend. They subsequently expanded by developing their own line of packaged foods made from dehydrated vegetables and spices that can be prepared by adding water and heating. They also sell sauces, rice dishes, frozen foods and packaged bean stew, all of which are produced at a plant in York.

Albert Ndjee said the new Lancaster store will carry the full line of Neilly’s products as well as some new ones developed just for the location. He said he expects the Lancaster store to open in early August. Neilly’s also has a small store at Central Market York.
