CHAD UMBLE | Staff WriterMama’s Famous Pizza & Grill, which has restaurants in the Reading and Allentown areas, has opened a new location in Ephrata Township.
Mama’s Famous Pizza & Grill recently opened near Giant at 848 E. Main St. in Ephrata Township, taking a spot formerly occupied by Fratelli’s, which opened in 2013. In addition to pizza, the new restaurant offers stromboli, calzones, pasta dishes, sandwiches, burgers, wings and cheesesteaks.
Mama's Famous Pizza & Grill in Ephrata is owned by Karen Recalde who had been the owner of Fratelli's. Recalde has a licensing agreement with Mama's Famous Pizza & Grill in Reading to use that regional chain's name and menu items.
Mama’s Famous Pizza & Grill opened its first restaurant in Reading in 2005 and now has five locations, including three in Reading, one in Shillington and one in Allentown. It is owned by Ramon Collado.
