Lancaster County has seen one of its warmest winters on record in 2024 thus far.

Records from the Millersville Weather Information Center indicate the season - meteorological winter consists of December, January and February - was the fifth warmest on record in Lancaster County since 1914 and also among the top 10 wettest winters on record.

While there have been a handful of snow falls, that hasn't left a lot of room for cold temperatures.

The most recent low on the list comes from 2018, where a string of cold days led to a temperature of -3, tied for second on the list. The coldest was in 2014, part of a polar vortex that dropped temperatures to -4 at the airport.

The coldest recorded temperature in Lancaster County history came on Jan. 21, 1994, at a whopping -18 degrees.
