Mary L. Francis, 81 of Lancaster, passed away Friday evening, July 26, 2024 at Hamilton Arns Nursing and Rehab. Born in Lancaster on February 23, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Ross H. and Colleen F. Martin Gregg. She was the wife of Keith D. Francis who preceded her in death on February 6, 2000.
Mary graduated from Penn Manor High School and earned her LPN from the Lancaster County School of Practical Nursing. She worked for the former Manor Care and Mennonite Home before finishing her career in private duty nursing. A devoted lady of faith, she was currently attending High Point Community Church of Ephrata and had attended First Assembly of God in Lancaster for many years prior.
Mary was a very supportive and caring mother and wife. She was a dedicated daughter to her mother, Colleen until her passing in 2021. She enjoyed crocheting, doing word searches and adult coloring books.
Mary will be missed by her daughters, April L., wife of Randall Barnett of Heiskell, TN and Tammy-DeAnn, wife of Kenneth Miller of Lancaster and her son, Gregg D., husband of Lynette Francis of Greensville, TX; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Dale A., husband of Lisa Gregg of Leola and Dean A., husband of Amy Gregg of Salunga. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ross H. "Butch" Gregg, Jr.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary's funeral service on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 6 PM from the Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 3225 Main Street, Conestoga. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 PM to 6 PM. Interment will be held in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
