Doris A. Prange, age 84, formerly of Avondale, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Ware Presbyterian Village. She was the wife of the late Douglas R. Prange who passed away on February 13, 2020. She was born in Gap, PA, daughter of the late Elmer J. & Ruth Stoltzfus Kauffman.
She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Wilmington, DE. In the past she was a member of the Jennersville Church of the Brethren and Grace Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School and was involved with church children's musical programs. She graduated from Octorara Area High School. She owned and operated Kauffman Furniture of Atglen and Avondale for many years. She enjoyed gardening, travel, puzzles and her family.
Surviving are 5 children: Brenda wife of the late Matthew Farkas of Bellows Falls, VT, Steven husband of Cindi Tyson Prange of Aston, PA, James husband of Amy Glodeck Prange of Spout Spring, VA, David husband of Susan Peters Prange of Lancaster, Patricia "Trish" wife of Paul Everett of West Grove, 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles "Chuck" Prange and 3 siblings: Elwood & Clarence Kauffman and Judith Hamlin.
Funeral service will take place from the Faith Baptist Church, 4210 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE, on Friday, December 1st at 11 a.m. with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until time of service. Rev. David Lundin will be officiating. Interment will take place following the service in the Glen Run Cemetery at approximately 2:30 p.m.
