Judy A. Burger, 64 of Lancaster passed into the arms of her savior on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy after a long battle with cancer. Born in Lancaster on July 14, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Donald H. and Anna Mae Miller Sullenberger.
Judy graduated in 1978 from J.P. McCaskey High School. She worked the majority of her life in the insurance industry, retiring from the Hess Agency in 2016. Judy was a true believer in Christ and attended Lancaster Alliance Church. Judy enjoyed traveling, with Maine being one of her favorite places. She loved watching ice hockey, especially the Chicago Blackhawks.
Judy was a brave, fun and strong-willed woman. She worked hard so she could provide for her three daughters as a single mother who she loved unconditionally. Judy loved being a "MiMi" to her grandchildren.
Judy will be missed by her daughters, Twins, Amy J. Burger of Lancaster and Amanda L., wife of Sean Klugh of Pottstown and Abby L., wife of Tyler Eckman of Bethlehem and grandchildren, Anna and Benjamin Klugh and Theodore and Hadley Eckman. Judy is also survived by her brother, Donald H. Sullenberger, Jr., of Ephrata and her sister, Wendy L. Sullenberger of Lancaster.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Judy's Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11 AM from the Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Road, Lancaster. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 10 AM to 11 AM. Everyone is encouraged to wear Judy's favorite color Purple in honor of her. Private interment will be held in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
