Construction is wrapping up at the Crossings at Conestoga Creek for Honeygrow, a Philadelphia-based restaurant chain that expects to open its first Lancaster County restaurant in late August.

At the Wegmans-anchored shopping center across from Long’s Park in Manheim Township, Honeygrow will occupy a 2,500-square-foot restaurant being built between Miller’s Ale House and Pizzeria Luca.

Honeygrow features made-to-order salads, soups and stir fry dishes. It is known for its honeybars, which are customizable dessert fruit cups drizzled with honey and topped with garnishes such as nuts, yogurt and granola.

At its new Manheim Township location, Honeygrow will have inside seating for around 50 as well as space for about 20 on a patio.

A banner outside the restaurant has been advertising an Aug. 16 opening, but Justin Rosenberg, Honeygrow’s founder and CEO, said some construction delays have pushed the opening back to sometime in late August.

Honeygrow began in 2012 with a restaurant in Philadelphia. It now has 48 company-owned locations, mostly in the Philadelphia region. Honeygrow also has restaurants in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts and Virginia.
