A boil water advisory has been lifted in Lititz following a water main break on the first block of E. Main Street that caused issues with water service in the surrounding areas.
Lititz Borough Police announced the advisory had been lifted Monday morning. The advisory was in place for residents and businesses on the street due to a lack of positive water pressure.
The break was reported by the Lititz Borough Police Department late Friday night on Crimewatch. The Lititz Borough Public Works repaired the damaged water main section and restored municipal water service to E. Main Street.
However, due to the roadway surface suffering significant damage, the street remains closed between Broad Street and Cedar Street, pending coordination with PennDOT for repairs.
There is currently no estimated reopening time, and the closure will likely extend into the week; pedestrian access to local businesses is still available by sidewalk.
A handful of the businesses are closed temporarily as a result of the break. Notably, the Tied House, which was set for its final day of operation Saturday, will not reopen.
Bull's Head Public House announced on Facebook that they will be closed until Monday, along with the Lititz Springs Inn. The Slate Cafe was similarly closed. The apPIERances hair salon was open Saturday and plans on opening next week.
