Mae Lena Manning, 90 of Manor Township, passed away Saturday evening, December 9, 2023 at Lancaster Nursing and Rehab. Born in Manheim on July 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Tillman and Olivia Williams Stark. She was the wife of John B. Manning whom she married on Mary 15, 1960.
Mae was a member of Bethany EC Church of Creswell, where for many years she taught Sunday School and helped with the nursery. Mae worked for many years as a CNA for the former Whitehall/Manor Care Nursing Home and working last for the former Brereton Manor.
Mae enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, riding motorcycles and gardening. She once was a very active member of the ladies auxiliary of the former Highville Fire Company. She was a lover of animals, having several during her lifetime.
Mae will be missed by her husband, John; daughters, Donna L., wife of Herb Gish of Bainbridge and Kelly A. Snavely of Elizabethtown. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Cheyenne Livering and her sister, Nancy Ream of Conestoga. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Andrew Snavely; brothers, Gary, Ray and Arthur Stark and her sisters, Olivia Detweiler, Isabell Stark, Frances Betz and Ethel Connelly.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to Mae's graveside service on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 1PM at the Creswell Cemetery, 1165 Letort Road, Conestoga with Pastor Robert Haslam officiating. Friends may visit with family on Thursday evening, December 14, 2023 from 6 to 7PM at the Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 3225 Main Street, Conestoga.
